Doctor Who thing of the day: nerd mom makes awesome Doctor costume for her handicapped son

Best fanac ever? Could be. Blogger Reese Dixon has a young son with cerebral palsy, but the fact that he gets around in a wheelchair didn’t stop her from creating for him an awesome Halloween costume last year:

wheelchair TARDIS

But perhaps Dixon’s greatest ingenuity comes in explaining how she remade an adult-size thrift-store tweed blazer to fit her then three-year-old. Click over to her blog for detailed directions that, I suspect, will thrill other parents of the littlest Doctor Who fans.
