ON THIS DAY: In 1995, Timothy McVeigh used a truck full of explosives to nearly demolish the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, killing 168 people. McVeigh has admitted that he was seeking vengeance against the U.S. federal government. Anti-government sentiment and the nefarious methods of domestic terrorists help lend a paranoid air to the 1999 conspiracy thriller ARLINGTON ROAD, starring Tim Robbins as the terrorist next door and Jeff Bridges as the college prof who gets caught up in his dangerous schemes. |
