ON THIS DAY: In 1912, Gene Kelly was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania -- he died in 1996. A legend of dance on the silver screen, he choreographed the longest dance sequence on film, the 17-minute ballet at the end of 1951's AN AMERICAN IN PARIS. There's tons of fabulous dancing leading up to that, too. |
