The city so charmed the Nazi who commanded the occupied city, General Dietrich von Choltitz, that he refused Hitler's order to destroy the City of Light and instead surrendered. The star-studded 1966 drama IS PARIS BURNING? follows the likes of Orson Welles, Charles Boyer, and Leslie Caron during the liberation. |
