ON THIS DAY: In 1941, a sneak attack by the Japanese at Hawaii's Pearl Harbor killed 3,000 and damaged nearly the entire Pacific fleet of the United States, shocking Americans and leading to the nation's immediate entry into World War II. Last summer, a sneak attack by Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay at movie theaters the world over in the form of their bloated, 3-hour "epic" PEARL HARBOR left millions shell-shocked and led to the immediate banning of future Bruckheimer/Bay productions... in some more just alternate universe, maybe.
