ON THIS DAY: In 1915, Frank Sinatra was born in Hoboken, New Jersey (he died in 1998 in Los Angeles). From teen idol to perhaps the best-known signer of pop standards, Sinatra helped built his legendary status by also starring in numerous films, including the 1960 crime caper OCEAN'S ELEVEN, a cult favorite featuring the era's Rat Pack of actors, including Sinatra, Dean Martin, Peter Lawford, and Sammy Davis Jr. |
