TODAY IS: The annual running of the 34th Street Express, a chartered Amtrak train that leaves early-morning Boston for a day of Christmas revelry and, more importantly, shopping in New York City. To judge by the 1996 family comedy JINGLE ALL THE WAY, shopping is the only thing Christmas is about: Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a too-busy dad who, instead of merely spending some quality time with his son, wastes the holiday racing around trying to find the one in-demand toy his kid wants for Christmas. Way to go, Dad. |
