TODAY IS: Groundhog Day, upon which morning a buck-toothed rodent is called upon to predict the weather for the remainder of winter. Bill Murray has just the right attitude toward this silly holiday in 1993's brilliant comedy GROUNDHOG DAY, in which the end of meteorological winter serves as a metaphor for a thawing of the cynical, wise-ass attitude of Murray's rude weatherman. (Ironically, Murray -- whose character comes to see Punxsutawney Phil as a symbol of his time-warp plight -- was bitten by the groundhog during shooting.)
