ON THIS DAY: In 1931, screen idol James Dean was born -- he'd have been 70 today, but his violent and accidental death at a young age sealed his place in Hollywood valhalla forever. Dean's best-known performance was in the second of only three films in which he appeared: 1955's REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE. His alienated teenager has become an icon of the 1950s. |
