ON THIS DAY: In 1971, The Doors' singer, Jim Morrison, died in a Paris hotel at the age of 27, probably as a result of mixing alcohol with prescription medications. Val Kilmer convincingly portrays the troubled young musician in 1991's THE DOORS, Oliver Stone's requiem for the self-destructive Morrison. |
