TODAY IS: The 29th day of National Accordion Awareness Month, in honor of the influence of this multicultural instrument on today's popular music. Perhaps the best known accordion player today is "Weird Al" Yankovic, pop parodist and star of the 1989 comedy UHF, in which Al becomes manager of a local TV station, giving the film all the excuses it needs to satirize contemporary television. |
