TODAY IS: The anniversary of the birth of film legend Gary Cooper -- he was born exactly a century ago, in 1901, in Montana (he died in 1961). Cooper won his second Oscar for acting for his performance in 1952's HIGH NOON, in which he portrays a town marshal in the frontier American West who must face professional gunslingers in duels. |
