ON THIS DAY: In 1882, the actor Bela Lugosi was born Bela Ferenc Denzso Blasko in Hungary (he died in Los Angeles in 1956). Best known as Hollywood's definitive Dracula in the 1931 film, Lugosi also achieved a sort of immortality for his last film, 1958's PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE, an Ed Wood dud destined to reign long as the worst film ever made.
