History repeated itself in 1983, when the made-for-TV movie SPECIAL BULLETIN -- about terrorists threatening to explode a nuclear weapon in Charleston, South Carolina -- convinced many viewers that the fictional story, presented in news-bulletin style, was real, despite numerous disclaimers.
