ON THIS DAY: In 1936, puppeteer Jim Henson was born in Greenville, Mississippi (he died in 1990 in New York City). Creator of television's SESAME STREET and the beloved Muppets, Henson made his mark on the movies with the visionary 1982 film THE DARK CRYSTAL, a grim fantasy cast entirely with puppets. |
