retro trailer: ‘The Breakfast Club’

Take a look back at an old trailer… (Didn’t have time to post one of these yesterday, so here ya go now, in honor of John Hughes.)

Maybe it’s just that I’m old now, but today’s movies for teens about teens just don’t feel the same.

The Breakfast Club is available on DVD in Region 1 and Region 2.

You know, a friend of mine and I had a discussion after we saw “I Love you Beth Cooper” and we came to the conclusion that teen movies were better in our day (10 Things I Hate About You, Can’t Hardly Wait, etc.). Heck, they were even better before our day like this fine example. I actually feel bad for teens today.

You’re probably right.

Then again every generation likes to think that the days of their youth was a Golden Age and the days of a younger person’s youth anything but a Golden Age.

Apres nous le deluge and all that jazz…
