female gazing at: Chiwetel Ejiofor

Because he tussled with Nathan Fillion in Serenity, which is hot…

Because he dared to go the full drag in Kinky Boots, which is hotter…

Because he made us forget for a few minutes how deeply awful 2012 is, which is hotter still…

Because he’s an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), which doesn’t quite make him a knight, but almost. Which is just plain awesome…

I’m posting pictures like these every weekday, of a man who is attractive and desirable, because I like to look, dammit — and because the female gaze doesn’t have to be such serious business.

(If you have a suggestion for someone we should female-gaze at, feel free to email me with a name or a link to a particular photo.)

Oh my yes. And he’s apparently just signed (along with Christopher Eccleston) for a BBC 2 6-part thriller. That should be fun to watch.

Ooooh, yes! He is one beautiful man, isn’t he? I can’t say his name to save my life, but he is one beautiful man! At my house, he’s known as The Operative.

Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!! I loooove Mr. Ejiofor, and have since I first noticed him in Serenity, which is later in his career than I should have noticed him. Smokin’ hot, and super talented to boot (and yes, he really rocked the drag queen look in Kinky Boots!).

Thanks for drawing my attention to this dreamy fella! I hope you’ll keep us posted on Karen P’s news item above—MY interest is sure piqued!

I stopped paying attention to the plot (as it were) of “2012” about fifteen minutes into the movie and just stared at Chiwetel Ejiofor for two hours. Good times.

He made 2012 just a little bit less stupid by his mere presence. I loved him in Children of Men, Inside Man and Dirty Pretty Things. I was gutted he turned out to be the bad guy in Children of Men – he has that great scene where he talks about crying on the stairs.

Was Claudio to David Tennant’s Benedick too.

    Very nice!

He plays the best possible bad guy, particularly in Children of Men.

Hell, as terrible as this sounds, one of his best performances may be as Peter in Love Actually. Watch him closely. Despite having only about three lines, he manages to convey just with those and his facial expressions that this is not a nice guy.

That’s a good description – best possible bad guy – he plays interesting bad guys because they believe in what they’re doing – they have valid reasons for doing what they do.

Why do you think he’s a bad guy in Love Actually? He’s a bit obtuse but bad guy? Tell me more!
