Outlander trailer: sex, violence, and kilts

Pretty sure we can thank the wild success of Game of Thrones for the fact that Diana Gabaldon’s action-fantasy-historical-romance book series — the first book was originally entitled Cross Stitch in the U.K. — is coming to TV. [Amazon U.S.] [Amazon Canada] [Amazon U.K.] Someone said, “Find me more epic fiction with lots of blood and sexytimes!” and behold, Outlander was there.

Cannot wait.

Outlander is due to debut sometime in 2014 on Starz in the U.S. No word yet on where or when it will air in the U.K.

Those books are so darn popular that getting them adapted for screen was only a matter of time. I’m surprised it didn’t happen earlier.

Haven’t read the books, but it’ll be interesting to see if a romance series can sustain an audience. Ron Moore is exec producing, and he does knoiw a thing or two about making television.
