    the most important thing is that we not shame people for changing their minds about something like this. You woke up and smelled the problem, finally? Great!

    I think the same thing about politicians who belatedly support things like marriage equality. Why shame them for not being the first to support it, or for not supporting it twenty years ago? They’re humans who can sincerely change their minds. And even if they’re just cynically or pragmatically following public opinion… it means public opinion ITSELF is headed in the right direction. And that’s a good thing.
