what’s a gal gotta do to get some attention?

Fret over men, cry over being called fat, or fuck on camera. Come on, ladies, it’s fun!

Yes, it’s The Week in Women, so much feminist fun over at the Alliance of Women Film Journalists…

What about pulling a Vegas heist? That’s always an attention grabber.

That’s just depressing.

I’m all ramped up for women in film because I just watched Stage Door for the first time, and am totally in love with the idea of a modern-day film to be so filled with women at the center of the show.

Sigh.

Joanna Lumley is currently in the headlines with the campaign for Gurkhas right to settle in the UK. Does she count, being a small screen star rather than a film actor? She’s played some iconic characters – Sapphire (Sapphire and Steel), Purdey (New Avengers) and Patsy (AbFab)- but she was a Bond Girl in “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”.
