quickie giveaway: ‘Sicko’ DVD, ‘Battlestar Galactica: Season 3’ soundtrack, ‘Superman: Doomsday’ soundtrack, ‘Little Rock Central: 50 Years Later’ DVD, ‘Driftwood’ DVD (now closed)

Michael Moore’s incediary and hilarious muckracking documentary Sicko arrives on DVD this week, chock full of bonus material. To celebrate, I’ve got a copy of the DVD to give away, courtesy of Genius Products. WINNER: Barbara. (Buy the DVD at Amazon.) (Read my review of the film.)

The CD soundtrack of Battlestar Galactica: Season 3 -- featuring music by composer Bear McCreary, who scored the first and second seasons of the show, as well as McCreary’s new interpretation of the classic Bob Dylan song, “All Along the Watchtower,” whose themes featured prominently in several episodes -- was released on October 23, and I’ve got three copies to give away courtesy of La-La Land Records. The soundtrack to Superman: Doomsday -- an all-new animated feature film based on the award-winning Death of Superman comic book trilogy, and featuring a brand-new Superman theme by composer Robert J. Kral -- was released on CD on October 23, and I’ve got three copies to give away courtesy of La-La Land Records. WINNERS: Donna, Heather, Peggy. (Buy the CD at Amazon.) The HBO documentary Little Rock Central: 50 Years Later -- about the traumatic desegregation of Arkansas public schools in the 1950s -- was released on DVD on October 30, and I’ve got one copy to give away, courtesy of HBO Video. The new thriller Driftwood, from director Tim Sullivan (2001 Maniacs) -- about an “Attitude Adjustment Camp for Troubled Youths” run by a sadistic captain (wrestling legend Diamond Dallas Page) and the ghost of a former inmate who haunts a current prisoner -- will be released on DVD on November 13, and I’ve got a copy to give away, courtesy of Image Entertainment.
