Please read the Frequently Asked Questions before emailing me. I get more email than I can possibly respond to, and if you ask a question that is dealt with in the FAQ, you can rest assured that you will not receive a reply from me. I simply don't have time to deal with the same issues over and over again. I'm sorry if that sounds rude, but there just aren't enough hours in the day to do everything. I'm not Roger Ebert -- I don't get paid for the many long hours I work on this site, so I'm loath to add to this unpaid workload any more than I have to.
A brief recap of some of the areas the FAQ covers: I don't take requests for reviews (except from micropatrons of the site), I don't know when your favorite movie is coming to DVD, I don't know where to buy a prop that appeared in a movie, I don't know how to find out what song was used in a movie, I will not help you write a school paper. Etcetera, etcetera. I also don't know how to contact your favorite movie star... and if I did have access to such privileged information, I would not share it with you.
If you're writing just to call me a jerk, don't bother. If you can't back up an opinion of yours that differs from mine with an intelligent argument, don't bother to write. Be warned that I get quite a lot of amusement out of idiotic ramblings -- the more incoherent, ungrammatical, and misspelled the better -- and so do my readers. All email I receive becomes my property to do with as I wish, including posting it here for open ridiculing.
If you're writing just to generally chat about film, you're better off posting your commentary over at the Cinemarati Roundtable, which is devoted to intelligent chatter about film. I check in there often and participate frequently in the discussions, so you're more likely to get a reply from me there (and you'll find lots of other smart people who want to talk about film even if I don't jump into the discussion) than via email. I just don't have time for penpals. Again, sorry.
