I do think that any film critic who lies about his or her reaction to a movie needs to find different work. But there would seem to be no reason why a member of the moviegoing public wouldn’t lie about liking a film…

Well, the moments are Doctor Who adjacent, anyway… and very British — I don’t get much of what’s here. It is scary, though…
Joe Wright makes sure his story looks great — and sounds great, with its aurally spectacular Chemical Brothers score — but it’s an empty experience, a Frankenstein story with no heft, indeed with little apparent awareness of the classic tale it is evolved from.
The title makes it sound like a cheesy Syfy Saturday night movie, but it’s a real-life horror story about how the Soviet Union nuked its own people…
