question of the weekend: What nasty or negative qualities do you recognize in yourself, and how do you combat them?

unhappy face

This weekend’s question comes from FormerlyKnownAsBill:

What nasty or negative qualities do you recognize in yourself, and how do you combat them?

I can tend to become a bit of a hermit, especially when things get tough. I don’t like talking about my problems, especially if I feel like there’s nothing anyone else can do about them, and it can be really hard for me to accept help, even when it’s offered willingly, because I hate feeling dependent. I also feel like I don’t want to burden people, because everyone has their troubles and in the grand scheme of the world, I know I’m still very lucky.

As for combating this? Honestly, I’m complete shit at that. It was hard for me to even admit to myself while writing this that these are negative things.
Your turn.

This QOTW comes via a previous QOTW, which asked “What kinds of things would you like to learn about your fellow FlickFilosopher readers?” Feel free to continue adding suggestions there for me to grab for future use.
