As slick and sharp as an Armani suit, this scam of a flick is so in love with the art of the con that it forgets to make us care about the con artists. Still, there’s a certain joy to be had in watching fine artists at work. Wiseass grifter Jake Vig (cool, assured Edward Burns: Sidewalks of New York) unwittingly swindles mobster the King (skittery, scary Dustin Hoffman: Moonlight Mile), and to make amends, agrees to pull off a major con on a rival gangster. Nothing’s what it seems, of course, except the game cast, including Rachel Weisz (About a Boy) and Andy Garcia (Ocean’s Eleven), all having a ball.
