Doctor Who thing: the animated series that almost happened (but didn’t)

Dan Norton, an artist for DC Comics, among others, recently revealed that he had been hired to work on concept art for a new BBC animated Doctor Who series. When it fell through, he posted his work on the project at his deviantArt site. This is the pitch poster:

Norton says:

Starting… with first Doctor, the series would have touched on all the versions and filled in some gaps.

What a shame it never happened. Maybe it’ll be revisited at some point in the future. Or the past.

See DanNortonArt for more sketches (and larger versions of these).

Thanks to Lon for the heads-up.

well the other animated dr who tv specials weren’t that successful and were probably really expensive. And y’know that artwork just looks too damn American!
