New York photo: “New York is dying”

I was rather alarmed to see this dramatic ad on the subway. But it’s part of a campaign to get people to sign up to be organ donors, not some sort of warning of impending apocalypse.

I see no tech later than the 1930s there. Not surprising it’s dying. Now, something nice in silicon and chrome…

we still have tons of tech from the 19th, early, mid and late 20th century, still working away… perhaps there should have been an ubiquitous cell/smart phone in there… but honestly, this is more representative of NYC.

Yeah, but not many hearts that were beating in the 1930s are still in good shape now.

Apparently the years between the wars was a Golden Age for NYC, not just the English country lifestyle.

But really, why would it be dying? Real question…the church in the next village over just had its 1000 year anniversary. the village itself is, of course, older. Cities can last quite a lot.

But NYC isn’t dying. The poster is referring to New Yorkers, because they’re not getting the organs they need, because other New Yorkers aren’t signing up to be organ donors.
