watch it: “John McCain says ‘F**K You!’ during Interview”

I’m in England at the moment, where I’m getting an, um, interesting perspective on the American presidential campaigning. So just to be perverse, all this week I’m highlighting YouTube video of Republican candidate John McCain, for two reasons. 1) He’s a nut, and as many people as possible need to know that before they go to the polls on November 4. And 2) The possibility that McCain could potentially be derailed as a candidate through his own words — as propagated on YouTube — is a banner moment for the Internet. Theoretically, this kind of material has always been available before… if the mainstream corporate media deigned to air it. Today, we can see it for ourselves… as long as the word about it gets out.

The man is unstable and clearly lacks any sense of basic judgment. I have to wonder whether there’s, like, actually something misfiring in his head, like how people with frontal lobe injuries can’t control their behavior. I don’t say this to be mean or facetious: I really worry about this.

(In the interest of equal time, I welcome hearing about any similarly scary YouTube video of Barack Obama. Just drop me an email with a YouTube link.)

Well, if dropping the F-bomb is clinical evidence of mental instability, then I guess I and a lot of other people need mental help.

Speaking of lacking any sense of basic judgement… do you believe everything you dredge up on the internet? Lots of these videos are fakes.

Can you please stick to talking about movies and not politics? I don’t come to your website to read about McCain and Obama…I get that everywhere else.

Well, I come to this website for MaryAnn’s thoughts on whatever it is she’s thinking about. Chiapet, are you operating on the assumption that she shelved a movie review or something in order to post this?

If you don’t want to read it, don’t. The article’s title is not misleading in any way, and there are folks out here who enjoy reading about all the different kinds of stuff MaryAnn posts (well, most of it. Doctor Who Fan fiction, what?) :).

The point is, if you’re not into something, skip it. Why do you feel the need to dictate what she writes about? The next step down from that is making sure she only writes good things about movies you liked, and only negative things about movies you didn’t like. And that’s what your blog is for, chiapet.

Can you please stick to writing about whatever you want on your own blog? I don’t come to your website to read what chiapet wants you to write.

Hope after the trip you’ll define “interesting perspective” for us. :)

I don’t come to your website to read about McCain and Obama…

Then don’t read the bits about McCain and Obama. Seems pretty simple to me.

Well, if dropping the F-bomb is clinical evidence of mental instability, then I guess I and a lot of other people need mental help.

It seems to me that it’s evidence that he doesn’t have the temperament one would desire in a president. Many people drop f-bombs, but most of us have the self-control to avoid doing so in work situations (or suffer consequences if we can’t). If he can’t properly deal with the stress of his situation now, how is that going to affect him if he’s elected?

–“It seems to me that it’s evidence that he doesn’t have the temperament one would desire in a president.”

Now that deeply concerns me, too, but there’s a distinction between that and being brain-damaged. Hyperbole and fake videos don’t go well with an appeal to voters to use their good judgement.

What bothers me more is Fox’s coverage of it. Being in Australia, I’m not subjected to it that often…

Deary me, that is one biased station…Rather than simply report the news they apologise for him?

Have they started counting down the days to McCain’s election win, like they did with Bush?

Yeah, true…but we’re spared his worst media outlets, it seems…
