watch it: the 1/24/09 weekly address from President Barack Obama

“The paradox and the promise of this moment” — I like this.

“Act as citizens”? Imagine that.

At Recovery.gov there’s just a placeholder right now. It reads:

An oversight board will routinely update this site as part of an unprecedented effort to root out waste, inefficiency, and unnecessary spending in our government.

Cool.

I’m trying very hard not to feel like Charlie Brown looking at Lucy Van Pelt holding a football and wondering if just this once, it won’t get snatched away if he runs at it…

(See also my writer’s blog MaryAnnJohanson.com for my “100 words 100 days” feature, wherein I’ll post a single word each day to encompass the previous day’s accomplishments — or to highlight the less than noble actions — of the first 100 days of the Obama adminstration.)

I really like that he is still doing these after inauguration day. It’s like a state of the union address, but we get it every week!
