watch it: the 7/24/10 weekly address from President Barack Obama

As long as Wall Street insiders are in charge of economic policies in Washington, we will never have any serious reform of Wall Street, no matter what bills the president wants to crow about. And we can kiss any usefulness of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau good-bye if the awesome and independent Elizabeth Warren isn’t put in charge. Likely we’ll end up with one of Timothy Geithner’s buddies in the job, in which case it’ll be utterly ineffectual, if not actively harmful.

I’d also like to see some Wall Street CEOs perp-walked in shame into prison. But that’ll never happen.
