I’m not sure which is funnier, the movie’s tagline, as seen on the DVD cover art:
Satan has an oral fixation
which sound so clinical for something that should sound terrifying; or this, the movie’s description from Amazon:
An attempt to summon a demon using the sacrifice of a prostitute misfires – the evil entity instead possesses the body of the intended victim! With the ability to leap between hosts, how can it be stopped before it tracks down its target?
On the one hand, “Satan’s psychoanalyst has diagnosed him with lingering in a juvenile psychosexual stage of development” simply isn’t as scary as “Satan wants to shove his bifurcated tongue down your throat” would be. On the other hand, why would you sacrifice a prostitute if you wanted to summon Satan? Wouldn’t a hooker be on his team, and wouldn’t he’d be pretty angry that you hurt one of his girls? Wouldn’t sacrificing a nice, sweet virgin be more likely to draw the polite attention of Old Scratch?
I just don’t get these horror movies today. They’re doing it all wrong.
