The magic is as modest as can be, and its aim is a bit off…

Is it gory? Sure. This is one of the most disgusting movies I’ve ever seen, grading strictly on a scale of blood and guts and viscera. But terrifying? Hardly.

You get the G.I. Joes for Christmas. Hooray! You make them cross the demilitarized zone between the china cabinet and the DVDs near the TV to rescue Barbie. *pawft pawft pawft pawft* — enemy fire.

Keeps trying to fly off into potentially fascinating directions and then getting yanked back into a mushy mediocrity…
Was this secretly produced by the Institute for Creation Research?

Exactly what you expect it to be. Unless you were expecting some Sam Raimi nutso. (new DVD/VOD US/Can)

Lacks all sense of magic, of myth, of danger, of humor, of power. A compete and utter all-around disaster…
If only movies could be not tossed aside lightly but thrown with great force…

Contents itself with the mildest of tweaks at both the zombie and the romantic-comedy genres… (new on DVD/VOD in the US and Canada)
“Paperman” might be the most romantic movie of the year…
