‘Doctor Who’ thing of the day: Christopher Eccleston’s charity Dalek sketch

Tue, Feb 15, 2011

It’s part of National Doodle Day, in support of Epilepsy Action, which helps people living with epilepsy. You can text to vote for Eccleston’s sketch (or that of any of the many other celebs who contributed), or bid to buy the originals on eBay…

question of the day: What secondary or tertiary characters from literature deserve their own movie?

Or even if they don’t actually deserve it, you just want to see it…

‘Doctor Who’ thing of the day: Russell T. Davies might leave ‘Torchwood’

question of the day: Why isn’t Hailee Steinfeld a leading actress?

Mon, Feb 07, 2011

Have you seen True Grit? Have you noticed how it’s pretty much all about a 14-year-old girl? So how the heck is she only a “supporting” actress?

Kevin Smith? John Carpenter? They’re two potentials on my list at the moment…

question of the day: Who the heck is Saoirse Ronan going to play in ‘The Hobbit’?

Please don’t tell me that she’s going to be a dwarf who, halfway through Mirkwood, reveals she’s actually Thorin Oakenshield’s teenage daughter who disobeyed Dad when he told her she couldn’t come along on his quest…

question of the day: Has Kevin Smith finally gone mad… or is he brilliant?

Wed, Jan 26, 2011

Smith wants his fans to pay $60 to see his new movie, Red State, in order to support independent filmmaking and independent distribution. Could any movie possibly be worth that, even to Smith’s legions of fans?
