question of the day: What is the ideal cineplex showtime?
Is there an ideal time? Does it change on the day of the week? (Maybe there’s a different time you’d prefer to see a movie in an after-work scenario than on a Saturday evening.)

Or is it merely that our definition of “good manners” is changing? Is “I’m good” an acceptable substitute for “No, thank you”? Is “You bet” a perfectly polite response to “Thank you”?

I’m gonna go with Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings. Wood doesn’t spring to mind when thinking about action heroes, and even within the context of the story, a homebody hobbit is the last person anyone expects to be an action hero.
I’d venture to guess that Asimov’s name is synonymous with science fiction even among the general public who don’t read. It seems like a no-brainer for Hollywood to glom on to Asimov’s reputation to pre-sell films. So why hasn’t it?
Which robots that have most impacted entertainment, as well as our ideas about what robots can and should do?
If I have to drive, it’s a pain in the ass. I would hate to have to drive to commute to a job, for instance. And driving in big cities is pointless and exhausting. But an open country road? Bring it on.
Or maybe it’s something in the middle? When I want company, for instance, I’ll leave an all-news channel on… at least till it starts annoying the hell outta me.
I’ve seen far more mixed-race couples with their mixed-race children in London than I ever saw in New York, and that is absolutely reflected on British TV…
