There hasn’t been a movie like The Runaways, one about women rockers that’s just as raw and earthy and tough and pitiless as the ones about the men are.
I’ve always been annoyed that the subtext of most car commercials is, “If you buy this car, girls will want to fuck you,” but it ain’t even the subtext here — it’s the text:
I challenge anyone who sincerely believes that *The Blind Side* is a good film to take a look at this one and see how this kind of story is meant to be told.

Frank Langella brings it to your door, and inside is the Pop-o-matic of Death, and you either push the big red button under the plastic dome, in which case someone you don’t know dies and you get a cool million in a briefcase, or you don’t, in which you don’t get a movie made about you. Resisting the Moral Dilemma? No movie for you!
Take a break from work: watch a trailer… This is one of the funniest trailers I’ve seen in a long time — “I am smiling.” *snort* I hope the movie is as effective at aping 70s movie clichés as the trailer is at aping 70s trailers. And I really hope that all the funny bits … more…
