Marvel’s new painted Avengers posters are making me remember that part of what made me fall in love with movies when I was a kid was the posters.

Country Strong (review)
There’s solid workmanship and an authentic emotional muscle in this movie. I was startled to find myself overwhelmed, eventually, by its ragged charms and its rough-edged vision of female power and pain.

The title makes me think of WristStrong, Stephen Colbert’s parody charity movement against wrist violence… and what we know about the film so far seems to imply that being country strong means taking strength from jealousy and substance abuse.
