Torchwood Series 2 Finale Upsets Even Hitler…

Oh man, I haven’t laughed so hard in ages. But don’t watch if you haven’t finished Season 2 of Torchwood:

Thanks to Mark Bourne, my DVD editor at Film.com, and reader David for pointing this out to me.

Speaking of: If you get HDnet, you should be watching Torchwood on Monday nights — the network is rerunning both seasons, all 26 episodes, at 7pm, 10pm, and 1am, one episode per week. (They started on May 12, so they’re already a few episodes into Season 1.) And yes, I do hope to get back to my Torchwood blogging soon…

That’s hilarious, and I have to agree with him, except for the not watching part. I’m not giving up. I hope they have a plan. Like the cylons. (Well, not like the cylons. A good plan.)

I’m sort of tired of that particular meme…

… but that made it funny again.

Heh, funny video, but personally I found it daring and interesting that they did what they did. I was starting to get bored, to be honest, merely because I always knew “oh, they’ll all get out of it alive” which seems furthermore a cheat since it makes Jack’s immortality feel more of a blessing than a “he’ll eventually lose everyone he knows and cares about” curse. There are too many shows out there where you know the protagonists will all be fine in the end, and to not have that comfort there goes a long way towards Torchwood trying to live up to its Adult Doctor Who moniker (which IMHO it has only intermittently captured).

I agree that the season finale of *Torchwood* was particularly effective because it did do things that we don’t expect a TV show to do. (Though I’m sorry to see Owen and Tosh go, too.) But I think this video is not so much about complaining about TW but about sending up the reaction of we fans. Which it does extremely well.

I dunno. I kinda preferred the version where Hillary loses it after the Indiana primary…

Hysterical and definitely not safe for work!

Well, poop. I clicked on the video and it says it’s no longer available. Can someone post a synopsis of what I missed?

No synopsis could do this justice.

Although the Daily Telegraph tried

which is how I heard of it in the first place.
