watch it: “Lego World Trade Center Attacks”

More LEGOness. I post this not because the movie itself is well done or amusing or out of some other impetus that is generally positive, but because it makes wonder about who made it and why:

I think this must have been done by a child, but I’m torn between whether it’s a cathartic way of working through a trauma or whether it’s a warning sign of a future serial killer.

What boggles my mind is not the video itself, but the comments. People telling this kid that this is America and he should a) learn to play with real Legos, b) speak English, or c) go home. *sigh* I’d like YouTube a lot more if they would make it so that all comments also displayed the age and location of the commenter. As it is now, the YouTube comments area is like a federal wildlife preserve, but for stupidity and ignorance instead of animals.

I agree.

And the sad part is comments like that aren’t unusual on YouTube. Nor are they unusual on other sites as well.

So much for the myth of a liberal Internet.

Btw, I can’t help but wonder what Sara would think of this video. I would like to believe the kid is just playing, but still…in view of his subject matter…
