watch it: “The Wave Pictures – ‘Just Like A Drummer’”

Something cheery on this seventh anniversary of 9/11, because I don’t want to think about how there’s still a big hole in the ground in Lower Manhattan. For Christ’s sake, we defeated Hitler and the Japs in less time.

“Japs”? Really? I thought you were better than that…

You thought I was better than what, FrankS? Better than using the vernacular of a long-past era to evoke that era?

Or are you one of those people who would prefer we update *Huck Finn* to take out all those disturbing N-words?

It was disparaging then and it’s disparaging now. If you think using an old derogatory term to evoke an era is okay, then have at it – it’s your blog.

And no, I don’t have any problems with the “N-word” used in Huckleberry Finn. It’s used as a scathing commentary on slavery. Although I see you didn’t spell out that vernacular.
