War, Inc. (review)
No extras on the *War, Inc.* DVD? Really? I was so hoping for something — a commentary track, a making-of — that would help me understand why this seeming can’t-miss satire misses.

obsession: Hamlet; not any particular movie version of it, just the play itself… and every movie version of it (still more of my summer of David Tennant and Hamlet to come, and yes, I know it’s now autumn) boyfriend: Lee Pace in Pushing Daisies (cuz he’s just the cutest thing ever) psyched: Quantum of Solace … more…
At least on writing about it, after Thursday night’s episode, which I just caught up with. It’s really mysterious, I must say. I’m Sam’s age. I lived in New York City in 1973, just as American Sam did, and so I’m supposedly getting a little glimpse into my own past, just like American Sam is. … more…
Alert! I received an update by email this morning from “Serge G” (I assume this is a pseudonym, considering the sensitive nature of the information he is disseminating) regarding the situation with Scarlett Johansson. (She’s a clone, you know — the story began in May here.) Serge has this to reveal: Hello dear Ladies and … more…

Take a break from work: watch a movie trailer… His message is righteous? His love is everlasting? His gift is life? Another weekend is upon us, and I never covered last weekend’s U.K. box office. Ack! Here’s how things played out in the U.K. last weekend: 1. Burn After Reading: £2 million (NEW) 2. Eagle Eye: £1.1 million (NEW) 3. Igor: £1 million (NEW) 4. The House Bunny: £.66 million (dropping 27% in its 2nd week) … more…
Apparently I’m not enough of a Trekkie to have realized that there’s been a thing between William Shatner and George Takei all these years. It came to a head this week, as the Associated Press reported: “William Shatner lashes out at George Takei.” That seems a bit of an exaggeration. Here’s the “lashing out”: Lashing … more…
Well, this is refreshing. In a world where we’re all used to movie trailers that begin with ‘In a world where…’ and then go on to reveal the entire plot for us, it turns out that the trailer for Pride and Glory does not, in fact, do that, even though it looks like it does.
