Law Abiding Citizen (review)
It had me at *kaboom,* this thorny moral conundrum of a film, and then it lost me when it threw out all the tricksy pointedness in favor of thoughtless, counterproductive badassery.
trailer break: ‘The Fourth Kind’
Take a break from work: watch a trailer… It’s total bullshit, of course. No scene in this movie is supported by archive footage, though it does appear to be the case that Milla Jovovich appears in the film. This is all entirely invented, wholly fictional (the Anchorage Daily News did some investigating). But it’s spooky, … more…
question of the day: Does the casting of Adrien Brody and Topher Grace as action heroes signal a shift in action movies?
So, the news came this week that Adrien Brody and Topher Grace would be headlining the upcoming Predator reboot from director Nimród Antal. Say what? Now, sure, Brody is majorly cool — seriously, did you see The Brothers Bloom? OMG, you must — and Grace was a hoot in that one bit in Ocean’s Eleven … more…
caption this! image from ‘The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus’
Fun for Wednesdays! We look at an image from an upcoming movie and write snarky, witty, or otherwise entertaining captions for it. No prizes, it’s just for fun. Awesome European commercial for you’ll-never-guess-what: via Americablog
trailer break: ‘Trick ’r Treat’
Take a break from work: watch a trailer… There’s been a lot of this of late: movies skipping theatrical release and heading straight for every form of home video viewing known to humanity in the early 21st century. The straight-to-DVD stigma seems to be wearing off, and if the buzz on this film is a … more…
question of the day: What products would “blend seamlessly” as product placement into which TV shows?
Advertisers are desperate to try anything new in order to get ads in front of eyeballs, and TV networks will do anything in order to continue squeezing money out of those advertisers. (I think I hate most the banner ads that keep popping up along the bottom of my TV screen in the middle of … more…
