Barbie™ takes flight in her first original princess fairy tale movie, Barbie™ and the Magic of Pegasus. Princess Annika (Barbie™) discovers adventure when she is befriended by Brietta – a magnificent winged horse – that flies her to the beautiful Cloud Kingdom. Annika has only three days to break the spell of Wenlock, an evil wizard who has turned her family to stone. On her quest to defeat Wenlock, Annika meets new friends and together they travel to forbidden forests, skate through icy caverns and fly above the clouds as they attempt to build a magical wand of light. I sorta love how it’s Barbie starring in the movie as Princess Annika. Of course, we never hear about all the things Barbie had to do to get that first role. I hear that the hard-to-find Producer Ken’s Casting Couch Playset is sometimes available on eBay.
So they’ve got some flying horses and music from Beethoven’s 6th – otherwise known as the Pastoral. Should Disney sue?
Well, they had to do something to get girls to buy more Barbies. Otherwise they might, heaven forbid, have a sluggish fiscal quarter.

Pegasus, eh? Clash of the Titans, The Lightning Thief, and now this… With all these references to Greek myth, who says the traditional Western canon is dead? :-)
@Bluejay: If this does well, maybe we’ll see Barbie as Helen of Troy. Then Mattel can do a He-Man crossover and bring him in to “play” Achilles!
I’m absolutely horrified to say this, but I would TOTALLY see that.
Actually, I think a “Robot Chicken” version of that, using the real toys, would be pretty darn entertaining. Anybody know Seth Green’s phone number?
