Trying something new as a way to at least acknowledge all the DVDs and other screeners I receive, cuz no matter my best intentions, I can never get around to reviewing all of them.
These, though, I gotta review:
Gamera: The Giant Monster: The Japanese language original, with new English subtitles, in an anamorphic widescreen presentation. Coming from Shout! Factory on May 18. [preorder in Region 1 from Amazon U.S.]
Mega Piranha: Obviously, Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus (which I still haven’t seen) set some sort of standard — 80s pop star (in that case, Debbie Gibson) meets monster. Cuz this one stars Tiffany. Debuts on Syfy on Saturday, April 10 at 9pm Eastern. Coming to DVD on April 27. [preorder in Region 1 from Amazon U.S. or Amazon Canada]
Mothman: Sounds like sort of a sequel to that terrible Richard Gere movie The Mothman Prophecies. Or maybe not. Stars Firefly’s Jewel Staite. Debuts on Syfy on Saturday, April 24, at 9pm Eastern.
Must review, must review, must review…
MST3K song:
Gamera is really sweet/
He is filled with turtle meat/
Now we have Commercial Sign!
Hum this as you watch all three films. It should help keep you alive.
“Mothman? Mothman!” And here I was thinking that some of the backstory for Watchmen was being filmed….
