I love how “politics” seems to be its own reason to exist. I mean, getting things done for the American people no longer seems to be a priority — what’s important today is whether a politician can score points against an opponent.

Or perhaps getting anything done was never a priority. Maybe things only seem worse now because 24-hour cable news and the Internet allow politicians an everpresent platform for scoring points.
