The closest I came was when I slept through a very minor earthquake on Long Island back in high school in the mid 1980s. And I think I’d like to keep that as my closest brush with earthquakes. (Also, feel free to engage in general discussion about the Japan disaster.)

I would hop in the TARDIS and fly it somewhere a little warmer than a place where it’s so cold you have to cut through ice to get at the fish.
But only some people. It appears to be inconceivable to him that some women might actually like this movie. Why would they? It’s a science fiction military action flick with blatant political overtones… and no pink whatsoever. What’s for a girl to like, then? We shouldn’t be taxing our ladybrains thinking about such notions.
Battle: Los Angeles may be about invasion, but it’s not about aliens: it’s about us. This isn’t science fiction: It’s a bleak fantasy about karma being a bitch. It’s about collective cultural guilt. Looked at from that angle, it’s fascinating.
Hollywood just isn’t even pretending anymore that they’re merely recycling the same stuff over and over again.
