Following on from yesterday’s question — What movie memory do you wish you could eliminate? — is the obvious more positive flip side:
What movie(s) do you wish you could forget… just so you could experience them again for the first time?
Just as we’ve all films we wish we’d never seen, so there are films we wish we would could live through them again for the first time, come to them fresh and unaware so that we could feel that first sense of discovery again.
I have to fall back to the movie that most dramatically influenced my love of movies as a child: Raiders of the Lost Ark. I’d love to see that again for the first time… though it would be amazing if there were some way to both remember my current love and appreciation for the film and forget it at the same time, so that I could compare my new reaction today with my initial reaction back then.
