Sherlock: Series 2 arrives on American TV this Sunday night

Sherlock Martin Freeman Benedict Cumberbatch

Just a reminder that the second season of Sherlock — the modern update starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman — debuts on PBS on Sunday. Seriously, I don’t know why you haven’t all already bought the Region 2 DVD, which has been available since the end of January — a region-free player really really is the North American Anglophile’s best friend; shipping rates from the U.K. to the U.S. via Amazon are crazy cheap. But in case you haven’t and will be catching up now, don’t forget to come back and enjoy my episode-by-episode blogging, which commences with “A Scandal in Belgravia” — I can’t wait to hear about how much you love it (or, though I hope not, hate it).
The Telegraph has a few details, via cocreator Mark Gatiss, on Season Three, scheduled to start filming in early 2013. There’s some stuff that could be considered spoilerish for Series Two (unless you’re already a serious Holmesian), however, so click with care.
