Doctor Who thing: what if the Doctors were dogs?

We’ve seen what would happen if the Doctors were cats, so this was clearly called for. In a series she calls, naturally, Dogtor Who, artist Christie Cox reimagines the Doctors as canines:

Her choice of breeds for each of the Dogtors is absolutely perfect.

See individual Dogtor portraits at her Facebook page and her deviantArt site. She says she’ll have prints available soon at her etsy site.

Like the Eccleston choice. I used to have a dobie…uncropped, tho’. You know they have floppy, friendly ears and a long, very expressive tail if not cropped?

Makes you wonder why we didn’t see this before the cats. Dogs come in such a wide range of breeds you can easily see how she could choose one perfectly suited to each Doctor, whereas cats have to be specially “dressed” to look right.

Mind you, I don’t think I’d have chosen the 10th Doctor’s dog, but I love the 1st, 5th, and 7th. And who could have predicted a perfect 12th? This is great.

i agree — i would have gone for an afghan or greyhound for the 10th Doctor. something sleek and hyper.
