Mind you, Victoria famously didn’t want any memorial for herself, but George V got his revenge on her.

i wonder if people thought the Taj Mahal was hideous too? i think if you put this up against the hideousness that is the Shard (yes, i know the hostess likes the Shard; i do not) or the current “walkie talkie” in progress, we can see that the Victorians were not the only ones to inflict the visions with construction in excess.

I’m with you on this one; I detest the Shard, the Gherkin, and those other new buildings that have been wrecking what was left of London’s skyline.
