London photos: C.S. Lewis’s The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe book bench

Charity venture Books about Town placed 50 benches in the shape of giant books and painted to commemorate all sorts of great British writers around London this summer. They’ve just come off display, and will be auctioned off on October 7th. See Books about Town for more info.

Here’s the bench dedicated to C.S. Lewis’s Narnia novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. A closeup of one section:

What’s the bench made of? I wish the booksabouttown website had photos of the backs too.

I don’t know what they’re made of. And a quick Google didn’t reveal an answer. I would guess probably something like fiberglass.

I love the Narnia bench. I am now dreaming of a whole set of them, with beautiful illustrations from each book.
